| There is some lesson to be learned from everthing God has created! In Job
12:7, God says: "Ask the beasts and they shall teach thee; and the fouls off
the air and they shall tell thee." It is no surprise that even the little
"mole", insignificant as it is, has important lessons for mankind. Firstly, the mole lives in the dark. Its eyes are very minute and by nature it chooses darkness as its habitat. How this desscribes the whole human race. Our Lord, who knew the hearts of all,said; "Men love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil." He also said,"Satan hath blinded the minds of them that believe not", so like the mole they live in darkness, because they choose it. Secondly, the mole's ears are concealed. The mole appears to be deaf, just like the people in our Lord's day, and including all mankind which caused Him to say: "This peoples heart is waxed gross and their ears are dull of hearing and their eyes have they closed, lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their hearts and should be converted and I should heal them" (Act 28:27). Thirdly, it is said the mole's eyes open after it dies. Our Lord again speaks and this time He tells of a man who after he died"opened up his eyes in hell being in torment. He lived sumptously on earth every day but when life was over he was deprived of everything, even a drop of cold water" (Luke 16). Does the little "mole" have a message for you? It should, and every one should take heed. Do you close your eyes to the fact that God says you are a sinner and must be saved if you are ever going to be in Heaven? Are your ears dull of hearing, willingly closed to the fact that when Christ died on the cross He died for you that you might be saved? Are you among those of whom the Lord said,"They will not Hear?" Perhaps you say, "I am willing to take my chance on being saved," You do not need to take a chance. You do not need to wait until after you die to know whether you are saved or lost. The person willing to take his chance will be sure to be lost! Listen to what God says; "Look unto me all ye ends of the earth and be ye saved for I am God and there is none else" (Isa. 45:22). "Hear and your soul shall live"(Isa. 55:3). "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth in Me should not abide in darkness" (John 12:46). One of our Lord's dearest apostles wrote these words: "These things have I written unto you that believe on the Name of the Son of God that you may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the Name of the Son of God" (1 John 5:13). Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and the Bible says you will be saved and enjoy the Glory of His presence forever. Refuse to believe on Him will mean eternal darkness, forever to suffer the consequence of your sins in an eternal Hell forever. Consider now the lessons God has for you in the little mole and open your eyes to the Salvation of God which can be yours in this life in which to rejoice. by - W.G. McCartney |
